Sparkart LLC is a cutting-edge new media firm located in Emeryville, California providing services to clients such as Criss Angel, Eric Clapton, Linkin Park, Madonna, Tim Mcgraw, Metropark USA, Nine Inch Nails, and Ultimate Fighting Championship. Our services include applications for content management, social networking, and e-commerce.



Primary Job Responsibilities:



• Translate business rules and models into highly tested, object oriented code for our content management/social networking application.

• Deploy said application to Sparkart servers in a variety of different role based environments (development, staging, production).

• Maintain and monitor said application and issue bug fixes and small feature additions when necessary.

• Know how to work in a fast paced, closely knit, team based, iterative/agile development environment

• Strong ability to clearly present technical concepts to a non-technical business audience

• Ability to solve problems creatively within the constraints of the system

• Optimize code for best performance in a scalable LAMP environment

• Hunger to learn new things and perfect new technologies

• Tenacity of furthering your current set of skills

• Up-to-date on current technology trends of the web



Knowledge of the following:



• Object oriented programming with design patterns

• Refactoring with unit/functional tests

• Proficient in a linux environment with Apache

• SQL (MySQL)

• Ruby programming a major plus

• Ruby on Rails programming a major plus

• Javascript/HTML/CSS a plus

• Scripting languages (PHP, Perl, etc.) a plus

• Deploying applications in a linux based environment a plus



Qualifications:



You have a BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience (4+ years).
