Our client has an immediate opening for a Tech Writer/ Instructional Designer in the Rancho Cordova Area.





JOB TITLE: Instructional Designer /Jr. Technical Writer

DEPARTMENT: Enterprise Training

DIVISION: Operations

REPORTS TO: Manager, Enterprise Training





POSITION SUMMARY



The incumbent in this position is responsible for developing and maintaining Enterprise curricula, including desk level documentation, training courses, and related staff training materials, etc. This includes the development of blended learning methods and tools for courses including instructor led and web-based training.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



• Maintenance of application user documentation, procedures and training material programs.

• Update manuals in accordance with policy and/or criteria changes.

• Update and maintain desk level documentation.

• Review and edit draft and final proposals.

• Work with subject matter experts to obtain and validate course content.

• Apply instructional design theory and techniques for adult learners.

• Utilize established curriculum development process in the design and development of appropriate, effective curriculum.

• Ability to present ideas clearly and concisely, and to translate ideas into effective written communication

• Ability to work within a collaborative environment, multi-task, and work within aggressive time frames

• Organizational skills and ability to plan and prioritize

• Analytical and problem solving skills





EDUCATION AND TRAINING





• A high school diploma or GED, technical writing or instructional design and training experience preferred.

• Knowledge and application of English grammar, composition, editing, and proofreading skills.

• Written:

o Ability to analyze, evaluate and clearly present written information and findings.



• Verbal:

o The ability to establish, understand and follow work rules and procedures.



• Interpersonal:

o The ability to interact well with employees and outside contacts.

o Enterprise Staff- participates in projects as appropriate.

o Dept Staff: as needed to complete team projects
