The California Medical Association (CMA), a private non-profit association representing
the interests of physicians, seeks an individual for a challenging and varied position as
Executive Assistant to our Center for Legal Affairs. Being an integral part of the Legal
Department, this position provides specialized administrative support to the Vice President
General Counsel and one other staff attorney.
Duties include:
Serves as personal Executive Assistant to the Vice President, General Counsel and one staff attorney
Organizes schedules and prepares meeting materials
Maintains liaison with physicians, residents and component medical societies
Coordinates conference calls and travel arrangements
Answers phones and screens calls to appropriate individual
Assists attorneys with preparation and filing of briefs and exhibits
Composes routine correspondence, providing word processing support
Files documents with Secretary of State; other state offices and courts
Maintains filing system; sorts and distributes mail
Background equivalent to 4-year degree with 5-7 years legal administrative experience,
Typing 65 wpm. Excellent verbal and written skills. Proficiency in MS Office suite including
Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task and
maintain a positive attitude while working with a dedicated team.
