Desk top support technician

We are looking for a Desktop Technician for a contract engagement with possible extension. The position is located in Rancho Cordova.
The desktop technician will be part of a team doing a XP desktop deployment. This is an enterprise desktop deployment that may go a little beyond the 3 month duration.
The candidate must be flexible on the hours. The hours will most likely be 12pm - 8pm.
DESCRIPTION
With minimum supervision, install complex workstation software and/or hardware and their upgrades. Perform defined (and routine) tasks associated with the installation, upgrading, operation, control and maintenance of LAN/Servers, including the administration of LAN/Servers in support of business partners and staff. Investigate moderately complex problems.
Install, move, and test complex hardware and software systems in support of business partners' requests. Monitor and analyze changes and resolution of problems in order to identify improvement areas.
Investigate, diagnose and resolve problems identified by business partners, other staff and suppliers. Escalate unresolved requests to the Analysts and with assistance provide an effective interface between business partners and service providers.
Provide technical expertise in PC/LAN technology through training and support for business partners and LAN coordinators.
Develop plans for the installation of requested hardware, software, products and services.
Maintain working knowledge of the day to day tasks associated with the LAN/Server and security activities, including password maintenance to ensure consistency with change management policies and procedures.
Maintain inventory of PC/LAN assets (hardware, software and licenses).
Coordinate purchases of hardware and software.
