Build a local coalition to support Native American and Indian rights, including education and mobilization. The operation will collect rescission signatures and supporter information as well as educate at high-traffic sites.
Description
Oversee the implementation of the regional field plan to educate and mobilize supporters of Indian rights against statewide
referendum including: education, signature collection, and door-to-door canvassing.
Canvass selected neighborhoods to identify supporters and potential volunteers at the door
Build list of supporters of Indian rights around major state political events and high traffic sites.
Motivate supporters to take action with rescission signatures and supporter signatures
Grow political contacts in the community.
Work with campaign regional directors and earned media team for press coverage.
Hire, train, and manage staff
Hire and train organizers and educators.
Complete daily and weekly activity reports indicating progress towards goals.
Track and identify population centers for petition gathering and education.
Identify high traffic sites for site-based education and rescission program
Obtain solicitation permits / permissions from stores and property owners
Track and house rescission signatures.
Track and verify organizers daily reports
Verify and prepare weekly payroll
Secure and manage office
Identify communities to target for rescission
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in a relevant field or real life campaign experience.
4 to 5 years of field or relevant experience on a campaign or for a progressive organization.
Direct experience in supervising volunteers and gaining organization endorsements.
Has executed successful volunteer door-to-door and phone canvassing operations in the past.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Word, and internet a must.
Must manage time efficiently, have excellent organizational skills, pay attention to detail and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong oral and written communications ability.
Ability to work long hours.
Strong sense of self organizing.
Dedication to Native American rights
Must have a car and car insurance.
Must be willing to work sometimes long and irregular hours and to travel.
Available to start IMMEDIATELY a plus!
BASED ON EXPERIENCE, $3000 to 5000 per month
